Benefits & Reward

What you get!
One person

So, what do you stand to gain? Friends, experiences, skills - a great start to your legal career as a solicitor. Oh, and did we mention that we were ranked 33rd in the prestigious Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For survey 2010?

In terms of our credentials, you may have already heard that we're part of an elite group of employers who have been labelled as an 'outstanding' employer. We have also recently been awarded a two-star rating as part of the prestigious Best Companies accreditation scheme.

As well as being a fantastic place to work, our trainee package is pretty good too!  To give you an idea of our salaries, our current first year trainees receive £32,000 per annum and second year trainees, £34,000. Our benefits package includes 25 days holiday, season ticket loan, life assurance, group income protection, personal accident cover, private healthcare, pension, individual performance and firm-wide bonus schemes, and subsidised conveyancing costs.

If you're offered a training contract with us, we also offer to pay the costs of your GDL and/or LPC course fees, as well as providing a maintenance grant of £5,000 for each.

And "is there a good work-life balance" I hear you ask? Well, there may be times where as a trainee, you'll have to stay late or work beyond your normal hours. That said, we really do have a genuine commitment to getting the right balance, and recognise that this is a key feature in attracting and retaining talented people such as yourselves.

Here are just a few of our work-life balance initiatives:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity schemes
  • Subsidised staff canteen
  • Regular social events - we've even got our own Social Committee!
  • Subsidised gym membership
  • Regular chair massage/reflexology sessions
  • 'Change of gear' policy - we want you and our clients to be comfortable at work so we've adopted a less formal dress code for all staff
  • Our qualified associates have a target of 1200 hours (chargeable work) per annum, so there should still be time for you to have a great life outside work too
