Firm also receives special award ‘Best for Wellbeing’ in latest Sunday Times 100 Best Companies survey
City law firm Lewis Silkin LLP has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s best employers by the Sunday Times’ esteemed ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ survey. Coming in at number 33, this marks the fifth successive year Lewis Silkin has been included, and is one of only six law firms to feature in the list.
In addition, Lewis Silkin received special recognition as being ‘Best for Wellbeing’, citing its outstanding efforts over the year with regards to the health and wellbeing of its workforce. Amongst the various initiatives highlighted by The Sunday Times were the availability of an on-site osteopath and reflexologist, team training on managing pressure, a programme to improve staff hydration, and the introduction of healthier and lower-fat dining options.
More than 240,000 employees from 896 companies were surveyed for this year’s ranking, alongside a thorough evaluation of each organisation’s key statistics, processes and policies. Responses for Lewis Silkin were highly positive across the eight key areas surveyed, including Wellbeing, Fair Deal and Giving Something Back, thus firmly cementing the firm’s position within the top third of the list. Particular highlights include:
- 65% felt that the firm was more proactive when it came to responding to staff feedback, making it number 10 overall in the rankings for that criteria, and 75% felt supported by their manager.
- 72% of staff recognised that profit and budget concerns are not the only criteria driving the organisation.
Commenting on this year’s ranking, Lewis Silkin managing partner, Ian Jeffery said:
"We’re all really proud to be recognised for the 5th year running as one of the best employers in Britain. Our people’s positive views on the firm, its culture and values are testament to our collective commitment to making Lewis Silkin one of the most exciting and fulfilling places to work. We’re doubly delighted also to receive the special award for supporting the wellbeing of our people."
