Leading IP lawyer joins Lewis Silkin as partner

City law firm Lewis Silkin today announces the appointment of Jeremy Summers as partner in the firm’s renowned Media, Brands and Technology (MBT) team. He joins Lewis Silkin from Pitmans, where he was an equity partner of Pitmans SK Sport and Entertainment LLP.

Jeremy has wide-ranging IP expertise on both contentious and non-contentious matters across a number of sectors, with a particular focus on sports, music, sponsorship, theatre, major events and computer games. His experience includes working in-house on the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, acting for a sponsor of a leading Formula 1 team, and advising on all legal matters relating to a globally-renowned hit Australian musical. Over the course of his twenty-year career, he has advised on more than US$1 billion in sponsorship deals for some of the world’s most renowned brands and organisations.

Jeremy was founder and principal of SK Sport & Entertainment, a specialist sports, media and entertainment IP boutique practice which merged with Pitmans in 2009. He has been recognised by both Chambers and Legal 500 for his expertise and role as leading advisor to the sports and entertainment sectors, and sits on the steering committee of the Henley Business School MBA for Music and the Creative Industries. Jeremy is dual qualified in New South Wales, Australia and England and Wales.
