Lewis Silkin advises British company, Pan Africa Solar, on the signing of a 100MW solar project in Pakistan

Lewis Silkin has advised its client, Pan Africa Solar, on the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which the British company would set up a project of 100 megawatts in Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur.

Lewis Silkin partner, Nadim Khan, accompanied Pan Africa Solar to Pakistan for the ceremony of the signing; an event attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, British Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and Provincial Energy Minister Sher Ali Khan. Secretary of Energy, Usman Bajwa, on behalf of the Punjab government, and CEO, Marcus Heal signed the MoU on behalf of Pan Africa Solar.

Marcus Heal says “It has been a pleasure working with all stakeholders involved in securing this agreement which aims to ensure Pakistan sustainably manages its energy resources whilst doing so in a coordinated and strategic manner that restores investor confidence in the country’s access to natural resources and the important role such resources play in powering economic growth”.
