Lewis Silkin spoke at AILA's RDC EMEA Spring conference and BDC APAC Annual conference

05 May 2017

Head of US immigration practice Diana Okoeva spoke at the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s RDC EMEA Spring conference in Brussels this month and BDC APAC Annual conference in Chennai earlier this year.

She also met with a number of US government officials at the US Embassy in Brussels, US Embassy and Customs and Border Protection in Abu Dhabi, and US Consulates in Dubai and Chennai.

The panel in Brussels discussed consular processing issues for family members of US citizens and permanent residents applying for US immigrant visas. The panel in Chennai focused on solutions in cases where a US consular post refuses a business or an employment-based US visa. The government meetings were carried out to encourage continued dialogue between the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the involved US government officials, to give the practitioners insight critical to representing clients with respect to their US immigration needs.
