It is with extreme sadness that Lewis Silkin announces the passing of colleague and friend James Levy. James was an excellent lawyer who gave enormous service to the firm since first joining Lewis Silkin in 1994.

It is with extreme sadness that Lewis Silkin announces the passing of colleague and friend James Levy. James was an excellent lawyer who gave enormous service to the firm since first joining Lewis Silkin in 1994.

As a practitioner, James was an expert in contentious matters, especially those in the construction field. Over and above his formidable legal skills, James was a unique and unforgettable personality within the firm.  He combined a lively and enquiring mind, with a quick wit and a playful sense of humour.  He combined great dedication to his work, with genuine warmth to those he dealt with, making him both a first class lawyer and an outstanding colleague.

In remembering James, Managing Partner Ian Jeffery said:

“James was a delightful friend and colleague, who brought learning, life and laughter to the firm over many years.  Those of us who had the honour to know him well saw the great courage and good humour with which James took on all that life presented to him.  James will be hugely missed within the firm, but we will be inspired by his example for many years to come.”

The firm extends its most sincere condolences to James’ wife Lene and James’ family and friends at this very sad time.
