I have worked with the Lewissilkinhouse team since January 2014. I have considerable experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment work and provide advice on all aspects of day-to-day employment law issues.
I have carried out assignments within the employee relations teams of two international investment banks and a number of assignments within the legal and HR teams of a national broadcasting corporation.
As well as employment disputes, I provide advice on day-to-day employment issues, such as performance management processes, flexible working requests, redundancies, handling dismissals and drafting employment and policy documentation. I have significant experience of running complex disciplinary and grievance procedures following a recent assignment where I ran these procedures in the client’s specialist team. I also advise on the employment aspects of corporate transactions and have provided training to clients on a range of employment law ‘hot topics’.
My industry sector experience focuses on the following: Financial Services, Broadcasting / Media, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Travel, Hospitality and Retail.
Following several in-house assignments, I have particular experience of the following:
- advising on employee relations issues
- working in an EMEA role where I worked closely with local counsel to advise on a diverse range of issues in the EMEA jurisdictions
- running complex disciplinary and grievance procedures
- attending dismissal and performance management meetings as well as advising on best practice
