I am an associate at Lewis Silkin having joined the firm as a trainee in 2012 and qualified in 2014.
I am a member of the Brands & Intellectual Property and Commercial legal practice groups and the work I do is largely non-contentious and focuses predominantly on negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts and the exploitation of intellectual property. I work with clients in a variety of sectors including Advertising and Marketing; Media and Entertainment, Retail, Fashion and Hospitality and Sports Business.
I assist clients with drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts. I have experience advising on a broad range of agreements including various goods and services agreements, distribution agreements, outsourcing contracts, confidentiality agreements, franchise agreements, sponsorship and merchandising agreements, website terms and conditions, privacy and cookie policies and intellectual property assignments and licences.
I also provide general advice to clients on existing contracts on issues such as termination rights, intellectual property ownership and limitation of liability. I advise clients on issues relating to the ownership, protection and exploitation of their intellectual property. This largely involves advising on commercial agreements relating to intellectual but also involves ad hoc advice on passing off, trade mark infringement and breach of copyright issues. I often advise on these issues in the context of corporate transactions.
I advise entities across the sports sector on a range of sponsorship, merchandising, broadcast and other commercial agreements relating to sporting events and the exploitation of intellectual property rights.
Retail, Hospitality & Leisure
I work with several major high street retailers in respect of a range of commercial contracts including most recently logistics and warehousing outsourcing contracts and international franchising and licensing agreements.
Media & Entertainment
I have work with entertainment venues, event organisers, talent agencies and brands on a wide range of commercial contracts and a variety of legal issues relating to the exploitation of intellectual property.
