In 2010 the media got rather excited about the some big changes proposed by the Protections of Freedoms Bill - DNA databases, CCTV control, vetting and barring, etc. However, one (let's say) slightly less immediately exciting provision concerned the outlawing of clamping motor vehicles in car parks. Fast forward two years and the Protections of Freedoms Bill finally received royal assent on 1 May - and now certain private land owners are getting excited! Read more
