We can demystify the planning system for businesses and individuals and help your business to manage environmental risks and develop strategies to limit liabilities, satisfy investors and meet complex regulatory requirements, and make the best of environmental innovation. Our focus is on pragmatic and commercial solutions to all land use and operational issues.
Looking to limit environmental liability in your brownfield site acquisition or sale? Want to keep your project on the cutting edge of environmental sustainability? Developing strategies to comply with new environmental regulations? We help clients manage environmental issues and get the most out of new law and opportunities.
With increasing aversion to environmental risk but where benefits of environmental innovation are widening, we combine legal expertise and an unfussy, commercially-driven approach to limit liabilities and get your deal over the line, help keep your compliance strategy on track, and help realise the benefits of environment-related innovations.
We advise developers, contractors, occupiers, public authorities, consultants, registered providers and individuals on a range of land use and operational issues affecting their property and business of land interests.
Getting the authorised planning use correct is key. Knowing what constitutes lawful operation is vital. Understanding what is, or could be, the authorised planning use for, or lawful operation on, land is key. We provide clear, pragmatic advice and can assist in securing the appropriate consents where required. We are experienced in the negotiation of statutory planning, highway and utility agreements. We handle appeals, call-ins and compulsory purchase issues.
Getting planning right is critical – getting it wrong can be disastrous.

New air conditioning regulations: your business might be affected!By James Corbett
From 1 January 2015, it will become illegal to use any form of R22 to service or maintain any cooling system, so in due course, R22-guzzling systems will be unusable (legally!) and will either need to be converted to "cleaner" forms of propellant or (if conversion is not practical) need to be replaced entirely.
Conservation covenants and the wider growth agendaBy Ben Halsey, Judith Damerell
