Abi's expertise

 Employment

I advise employers on all aspects of UK employment law, from contracts of employment and staff handbooks, to grievances, disciplinaries, sickness absence, discrimination, dismissals and Employment Tribunal claims. My clients come from a variety of sectors including technology, publishing, finance, consulting and utilities.

My recent work has included: advising a technology client on a large-scale redundancy process; advising a large utilities company on secondment agreements; reviewing a US staff handbook for use in the UK; and advising a high profile brand on the UK employment implications of a proposed outsourcing abroad (including those relating to TUPE).

I have particular interest in advising on the more unusual working arrangements such as apprentices, interns and agency workers.

My practice is heavily international and I have extensive experience project managing international advice for multi-national clients.

Recent projects have included: obtaining advice in relation to individual and collective redundancy processes across 30 jurisdictions; producing a report in relation to government assistance programmes for companies proposing redundancies in European jurisdictions; and managing a global “helpdesk” for a large UK retail client. In the past I have also co-ordinated global contract and policy reviews.
