Join us to discuss what areas of a typical LLP or partnership agreement may require updating, particularly if you want to avoid difficulties enforcing provisions and ensure that your firm’s goodwill is adequately protected.

Also, with the government planning to consult over measures to remove the presumption of self employment for LLP members and to counter the artificial allocation of profits to partners to achieve a tax advantage, this may be a good time to start reviewing the membership structure of your LLP.

According to a global study in 2011 by the Aberdeen Group 75% of 415 companies allowed employees to use their own devices for work. This trend is known as “Bring Your Own Device”, or BYOD, and it raises a number of issues for employers as they seek to protect business information and the personal data of their employees without infringing on individual privacy rights. As this trend takes hold, employers are increasingly going to have to grapple with these challenges on an international scale, rolling out policies which are standardised so far as practical, but also reflect local differences in privacy law. Employers will also face increased scrutiny by data protection authorities looking to see whether their employment practices comply with those laws and guidance.

Together with our colleague, Jessica Jacobi from Germany, this workshop will focus on the legal and practical issues from an international perspective.
