In summer 2012 the UK will be hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Over 240,000 applications to join the volunteer programme have been received and the organisers will shortly appoint 70,000 Games Makers. Those given a role must attend a minimum of three training sessions and at least 10 volunteer days during the Games.
