Employee Inventions (UK)

The English High Court has held that inventions made by an employeein seeking the solution to a particular problem were owned by hisemployer under section 39(1)(a) of the UK Patents Act 1977, eventhough the inventions had a wider application.

The Court of Appeal has decided that a lender’s duty to disclose certain information to a prospective guarantor applies only to unusual features of the contractual relationship between the lender and the borrower or between the lender and other lenders to the borrower.
