The Government has announced that it will consult with employers and payroll providers over this summer for ways to reduce costs and make the system easier for employers and HMRC to administer, in particular to examine ways of providing more frequent or real time processing of PAYE data.

Our view
Any reduction in the burden to employers of administering PAYE is to be welcomed. However, we need to examine what, if any proposals, are made as a result of the consultation.
