I major on commercial landlord and tenant disputes but also regularly advise on development agreements, options, easements, restrictive covenants; high value residential property and insolvency related property issues. I also have experience of commercial, construction, environmental and judicial review litigation. 

I have conducted cases in most forums: Court of Appeal, High Court, County Court; Lands Tribunal, LVT and Social Security Commissioners; Crown Court and Magistrates Court, RICS disciplinary proceedings; private arbitrations, expert determinations and mediations.

Media relations and public speaking

For many years, I co-edited EMIS Professional Publishing's bi-monthly updater service on commercial property law. I have also contributed articles and case updates for the property and legal press.  I am a member of the Property Litigation Association.

Recent examples of work

Advising on a successfully negotiated £40m rectification claim.  Conducting a successful appeal to the Lands Tribunal on a collective enfranchisement matter. Defending a claim for unreasonable refusal of consent to assign. Advising on various property partnership disputes. Advising on a restrictive covenant which threatened to stall a residential development with a successful outcome.  Advising on a prosecution for noise nuisance under the EPA 1990.
