I qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2005 with an MA in American Literature and History.  As part of the course I also spent a year at the University of Washington in Seattle.  I completed the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School.

I am currently sitting in Social Housing with the Employment and Incentives Department. Recent examples of work include:

• Attending and assisting with  the preparation for a full-hearing tribunal relating to race discrimination and constructive dismissal.

Drafting disclosure and case management directions to be agreed by the claimant and respondent in preparation for trial.

Drafting instructions to counsel.

Attending a case management discussion at the Employment Tribunal to determine dates for a full hearing.

I'm a travelling fanatic and have taken two gap years; one before university and one just before I started training.  I used these opportunities to travel as much of the globe as I could and I seemed to spend a disproportionate amount of time trekking through deserts and jungles on horses, elephants, camels ....  I picked up a little French along the way too.

When I am on British soil I like to go for long walks with my dog (preferably when it isn't raining!)  An obvious one but also very true: I love to read.  I run my own book club and I've just joined the book club here at Lewis Silkin.  And I enjoy all the usual stuff too..... cooking (eating!), good films, West Wing, the pub!
