A typical day may involve drafting or amending a building contract and consultants’ appointments, a development agreement for a regeneration project, advising on EU procurement issues and negotiating development obligations for a client acquiring a new build property.
In addition to writing various client publications I have recently had articles published in Building, Inside Housing and Property Law Journal. I have lectured on issues affecting construction including the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 and the Public Contracts Regulations 2006.
· Advising a consortium governed by EU procurement regulations on a joint procurement exercise to create a framework of developer contractors using the competitive dialogue procedure
· Advising an RSL in connection with construction contracts and professional appointments, and the construction obligations in the development agreement, for the demonstration site for the Elephant & Castle regeneration project
· Drafting and advising a global mining plc on its reactive and planned maintenance outsourcing arrangements for its Central London headquarters
· Advising three sponsors of the Government’s academies projects on EU procurement issues including framework agreements and the competitive dialogue procedure under the new Public Contracts Regulations 2006, building contracts and consultants’ appointments
I act for a wide range of public and private sector clients involved in the construction, regeneration and engineering sectors from RSLs, developers, building contractors and professional designers through landlords and tenants to funders. Clients include Wandle Housing Association, Electronic Arts Limited and several sponsors of the Government’s academies programme.

My feet, and all too often other parts of my anatomy, are kept firmly on the ground by my horses on whom I enjoy riding over the Surrey countryside – it’s far easier than walking up those hills. I also like the odd bit of clay pigeon shooting, walking the dog and my husband’s cooking. Despite that, I live in Westminster.
