I have the privilege to act for some of the world’s largest names in recorded music, mobile, live music, radio, production and online. I also specialise in working with clients whom are embracing content-based entertainment for the first time such as FMCG and lifestyle brand owners, advertising agencies, digital agencies and financial institutions.
My direct experience in the mediascape includes:
Record and Radio industry consolidation by way of acquisitions, joint ventures, disposals and mergers as well as catalogue assignments and corporate reorganisations of media companies;
The development, ownership, protection and exploitation of branded content: by way of securing, protecting and monetising brands and content in a digital realm allowing the development of new income streams such as music publishing, CD compilations, format exploitation, reuse of live material, Interactive DVDs, Live Events, Online Streaming and Downloads, SMS and mobile telephony;
Talent Rights: in respect of artistes for recording agreements, live events and radio presenting for exploitation via all media;
Live Events: including all aspect of such events including music clearances, infrastructure, broadcast licences, online exploitation rights, concessions and production agreements.
Music Copyright including creating for broadcasters CD compilations businesses, in-house music publishing companies, negotiating rights with record companies for the exploitation of live sessions and archive material, turning in-house productions of sonic imaging and commercials to profitable licensing models; clearing unique material to create narrowcast radio channels and podcasts . I also have experience in respect of new media issues, including the creation of new licences and models for the exploitation of music and content online and via online retailers and well as licensing in respect of film and advertising synchronisation deals.
Legal and regulatory issues: particularly in respect of live and online broadcast environments, particularly in relation to the OFCOM Code and the provision of live News.
Broadcast infrastructure contracts: including all manner of analogue and digital platform broadcast agreements including Digital Radio multiplex agreements, service provider agreements and joint venture consortia agreements.
