My work includes drafting employment contracts and policies, negotiating the terms of compromise agreements, and managing employment tribunal claims for both employers and employees. I also regularly advise on a wide range of employment law issues, such as redundancy, unfair dismissal, sex, age and race discrimination, terms and conditions of employment, disciplinary and greivance procedures, and flexible working arrangements.
· I went on secondment for eight months to a major international bank to assist with the employment issues they faced as a result of very difficult market conditions. I gave day-to-day legal support to the HR department and conducted greivance, disciplinary and dismissal processes.
· I am currently part of a team of lawyers defending a major race discrimination and unfair dismissal claim against a UK energy company.
· I recently assisted with an independent investigation into a claim of sex discrimination brought against an international law firm.
· I advised and assisted a senior executive within a major telecommunications company throughtout a testing disciplinary process.
I act for a range of clients, including an international bank, a major UK energy company, a well-known chain of restaurants and a variety of individual employees.
I love the company of friends and family coupled with plenty of great food and wine. I also enjoy reading, walks in the countryside, keeping fit, listening to music and going to see the fantastic plays on offer in the West End. I have recently developed a keen interest in detective dramas but find that I pick the wrong suspect without fail!
