On any given day I might be advising a company's shareholders on the potential sale of the company or negotiating a buyer on an acquisition; drafting a joint venture agreement, an investment agreement or shareholders' or LLP members' agreement.
I acted for EFG International (the Swiss listed private banking group) on its acquisition of Marble Bar Asset Management LLP, an alternative asset manager.
I advised the owner managers of a strategic marketing agency on the sale of their company to a large independent based in Germany; the partners of a healthcare marketing and medical education consultancy on the sale of the consultancy to a US listed acquirer; the shareholders in a leading customer publishing company on the merger of their company with another to create a market leading independent customer publishing company.
Much of my work can be non-transactional such as assisting clients in formulating plans for corporate growth; advising on employee incentivisation and on issues such as corporate governance.
One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to work in teams not only with my immediate colleagues in the Corporate Department but elsewhere in the firm such as lawyers in the Media, Brands and Technology team on joint projects.
Many of my clients are based in the wider media or marketing services sector, but not exclusively so, I also act for clients in sectors as diverse as dentistry, recruitment and financial services.
