Before university I taught English in rural China followed by a brief stint as an Account Executive in an advertising agency in Central London. I went on to study English Literature at Queen Mary, University of London and then spent a fascinating year as President of the Students’ Union. I converted to law in 2005, promptly followed by a year out to travel the world, get married and study random subjects such as journalism, acting, massage therapy and dress-making.
My work has been mostly contentious, i.e. dealing with tribunal claims and compromise agreements, but I have also had some experience of drafting employment contracts and assisting with client training.
When I joined the department in January, I was involved in a high value discrimination claim. I was responsible for organising the large tribunal bundle, assisting with witness statements, attending conferences and CMDs with counsel and liaising with the tribunal and the Respondent's solicitors.
I have also run a number of small claims myself, including a national minimum wage claim and a disability discrimination claim
I work for a range of clients including a well-known chain of restaurants, a car manufacturer, advertising and PR agencies, as well as individuals.
I like running , having completed the New York marathon in November, hiking and other physically challenging activities. I cycle to work and am an out-of-practice rower. I am a keen traveller, having covered 40+ countries so far, and intend to cover many more. I love all performing arts (performing and watching them) and studying interesting subjects. I also love red wine, steak and all things Argentinian.
