Mark Lim
Senior Associate
Litigation

I advise in relation to a wide range of commercial disputes and insolvency issues.  I am also a member of the firm’s partnership law group.

I enjoy advising clients who find themselves under pressure or in a corner.  I like helping them to gain control of situations that might previously have seemed hopeless.

Areas of Expertise

Some specifics

I have extensive experience of High Court and County Court proceedings.  I act for clients in the Commercial Court and have been involved in a number of mediations and disputes involving other forms of ADR including large scale arbitrations between members of a partnership

Media relations and public speaking

I have written articles for Legal Week, The Lawyer and In-House Lawyer magazine.  I also deliver talks to clients on litigation and insolvency issues.  I produce notes concerning recent developments in the law which are published periodically on the firm’s website.

Recent examples of work

Acted in multimillion pound litigation in the Commercial Court.  The case involved international litigation in a number of different countries and an underlying arbitration subject to a foreign jurisdiction.

Acted in a mediation and negotiated the settlement of a commission claim relating to the sale of a chain of fitness clubs across London.

Advised an investigation panel regarding a partnership dispute.

I'm human too...

I like to spend as much of my free time as possible playing squash.  In between games I try to off-set personal gains made in local restaurants by riding my mountain bike.  Mostly this is to and from work but at odd weekends I switch tyres and explore muddy trails around the UK with friends.  I also enjoy travelling abroad with my wife.  Depending where we end up, I’ll often try to fit in a spot of diving and snorkelling.
