Retail, Catering & Hospitality

Retail, catering and hospitality

We understand the particular employment issues that crop up in the retail, catering and hospitality sector, and how best to deal with them on behalf of our clients. We work closely with our clients to get to know their businesses and give them expert advice to help their businesses succeed.

On a day to day basis we advise our clients on issues concerning disciplinary and grievance procedures, family rights, discrimination and part-time working as well as employment tribunal claims. We work closely with our clients on more complex changes to the structure of their businesses, which involves us guiding them through TUPE transfers, outsourcing arrangements and collective redundancy programmes. We also advise our clients on specialist areas such as immigration and employee incentives tax.

To understand our clients better, our team often take part in mini secondments and one-day site visits. Team members are often published in the trade press and regularly provide training workshops to clients.

Our retail clients include a number of the UK's largest department stores as well as designer shoe and clothing companies. On the food and drink side, our clients include a chain of cafes specialising in home-made lunch foods, large high street restaurant chains, boutique restaurant groups, retailers running pubs and wine bars in London, supermarkets and a duty free retailer. In the hospitality sector we act for international and national hotel chains.

We hold regular networking events and training workshops for our clients in the retail, catering and hospitality sector, often with guest speakers from the industry.
