I specialise in media and entertainment, information technology and intellectual property law. I advise clients on both legal and commercial issues arising in the IT, broadcasting, television, music, digital media, gambling and publishing sectors.


Some specifics


I provide non-contentious commercial advice particularly in relation to the exploitation of content, media and technology. I advise clients on: the protection and exploitation of rights from content conception, creation and acquisition through to licensing and onward distribution; bespoke software development, licensing and implementation; and marketing, gambling and data protection law and regulation.

Media relations and public speaking


I have written articles for various publications, including The Times, The Guardian and Electronic Business Law.  I have also been interviewed on live TV in relation to topical media stories. I have spoken at seminars for the media and technology industries.

Recent examples of work

Advising on the outsourcing of a business process relating to advertising data for a publisher.

Advising on the launch of the first radio music shopping channel on DTT and satellite.

Advising on the staging of a branded music event in Moscow by a brand owner and the exploitation of media assets arising from the event.

Advising on the launch of an online music store as well as a channel offering streamed music and video which can be customised by its users.

Qualifications and other experience


I trained at a niche media and entertainment law firm and have been at Lewis Silkin since 2003.

I'm human too...
