I first joined Lewis Silkin’s Hong Kong office in 2016 and recently moved to the London office as an Overseas Qualified Lawyer. I am also a qualified solicitor in Australia.
I mainly assist clients with non-contentious employment law matters, from recruitment, to changing terms and conditions of employment, to termination and redundancies. As part of my day-to-day, I liaise closely with HR and in-house legal counsel from different industries and sectors including start-up tech platforms, global consulting companies, financial services and retail companies and publishing companies.
I have extensive experience in project managing international legal advice in both the APAC and EMEA regions for multi-national clients by working alongside local counsel of our Ius Laboris global alliance. Some of this work involves providing advice on drafting and reviewing employment contracts, employee handbooks and policies, and Work Rules (where applicable). My recent projects include:
- Reviewing company policies on holiday and other types of leave across 10 EMEA countries;
- Advising on the harmonisation of terms and benefits offered to employees across 6 APAC countries;
- Drafting and amending independent contractor agreements and advising on the legal and commercial risks involved between engaging a contractor vs. employee in countries including Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Pakistan, Egypt;
- Managing a fixed-fee arrangement for a large packaging client to manage their day-to-day, ad hoc employment queries across 58 jurisdictions.
