I am a senior associate specialising in planning law.
I act for developers, objectors and public authorities as they negotiate the planning system. In particular, I advise on obtaining the planning, environmental and other regulatory consents needed to authorise development, including compulsory purchase orders and other mechanisms for land acquisition. This often involves drafting and negotiating planning agreements such as section 106 agreements (planning obligations) and section 38 or section 278 agreements for highway works. I also frequently assist clients in preparing for hearings and inquiries.
The projects I have worked on have ranged from housing and mixed-use developments to large-scale energy and transport infrastructure, and I have advised on all stages, from project development through consultation to consent and implementation.
