The Rising Lawyers' Society
The Rising Lawyers’ Society is a network for in-house junior lawyers, run by junior lawyers, on the issues that matter to them.
The Rising Lawyers’ Society is a society created and hosted by junior lawyers from Lewis Silkin for the in-house junior legal community. It provides an informal way for all in-house paralegals, trainees, legal interns, solicitor apprentices and lawyers (up to and around 5 years’ PQE) to meet their peers across a wide variety of industries and practice areas.
Through our network, members will find new ways to connect with their peers whilst learning from inspiring speakers and exchanging ideas on topics that are relevant to them.
Events are held throughout the year, mainly alternating between our all-member evening showpieces and our breakfast club series. The Society is exclusively for junior in-house lawyers to ensure these events encourage engagement and provide a genuinely rewarding experience for attendees spanning London and Cardiff. In other words, it’s a safe space. There’s no dress code, no pre-requisites, no such thing as a stupid question. But what it lacks in formality it makes up for in good company and speakers.
The Society is also a vehicle to further the growth of its members, to encourage thriving rather than surviving, to celebrate diversity within the network whilst supporting members through the challenges they face. To that aim our Society family now includes groups with common interests such as our Black Women’s Group and an Alternative Routes to Qualification Group, both offering members a relevant forum alongside the wider Society. In this, and other activities, the Society aims to be a force for good in the legal community and beyond.
