rockhopper
rockhopper is Lewis Silkin’s low cost fixed fee employment law and HR support service.
rockhopper offers clients the following fixed fee services:
- a telephone/email HR helpline for day to day queries including online access to a helpline log and over 200 employment documents;
- the defence of low value Employment Tribunal claims; and
- handbook and contract reviews.
It differs from other low cost helpline services in that it is provided by experienced, qualified and specialist employment lawyers. Most of our rockhopper team have well over 10 years’ post qualification experience (four were previously partners). Where advice is needed in more specialist areas, the rockhopper team liaise seamlessly with lawyers in the main team.
Our rockhopper lawyers work from home and we pass on the overhead cost savings to clients, making it a really excellent value and top quality service.
We charge a fixed monthly fee for the helpline service based on an estimate of usage which is reviewed and adjusted periodically. We don’t tie clients in to long contracts like some providers, so our arrangements can be flexible.
rockhopper provides fixed fee defence to low value Employment Tribunal litigation. Fees are charged in three equal instalments when certain stages of the Tribunal process are reached. This means that if the claim settles, is withdrawn or struck out at an early stage only a proportion of the fee is charged, making it exceptional value.
rockhopper has been recognised by the LexisNexis Legal Awards, the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards and the Working Families Best Practice Awards.

In-house lawyer, financial payments company
There's no other employment law support I'd consider using apart from rockhopper. I've used the service in three separate companies now for a reason! The level of support, expertise and pragmatism simply isn't found in any other service of this kind. They're a People-person's dream to work with.
HR Manager, Tech platform
