Most in house sports lawyers are not employment law experts, but sports organisations/clubs have a reputation for hiring and firing more than most.
This session will provide a refresher to remind you of some of the basics should you get cornered in a HR crisis! We will be focusing in particular on:
- Hiring – getting the staff you want, commercial and legal considerations when negotiating the employment contract
- Firing – handling difficult conversations, termination of employment and disputes
- Post termination protection – notice periods, restrictive covenants and garden leave
