Lewis Silkin’s Sports Business Group are delighted to invite you to their discussion forum on Financial Fair Play - Where Are We Now? The event will be held at Lewis Silkin, 5 Chancery Lane in the heart of London.

The forum aims to discuss the current legal and practical implications of Financial Fair Play in both a European and domestic context. We have invited a panel of industry leaders who work in the highest echelons of football as panellists to a ‘Question Time’ style debate.

The event will be chaired by Lewis Silkin’s football regulatory expert, John Shea, and our confirmed panellists are:

Rebecca Caplehorn - Director of Football Operations at Tottenham Hotspur – Rebecca is a qualified chartered accountant who has worked in senior finance roles within both football and tennis. Prior to joining Tottenham Hotspur in March 2015, Rebecca spent over five years at Queens Park Rangers FC as finance director.

Trevor Birch – Chairman of Swansea City and vice-chairman of Duff & Phelps’ restructuring advisory practice - Trevor is a chartered accountant who has a wealth of experience in the football industry. He is the current chairman of Swansea City and has previously been chief-executive at Chelsea, Leeds United Everton, Derby County, and Sheffield United.

Paul Gilroy QC of Littleton Chambers - Paul has significant experience of sports-related litigation and regulatory matters. In his football work, he has advised and acted for a stellar list of clients, including Pep Guardiola, Gianfranco Zola, Sir Alex Ferguson, Roy Hodgson, Harry Redknapp, and most recently Antonio Conte, amongst others. He is also a specialist member of the FA's Judicial Panel and the FA Appeal Board, and sits as a Rule K arbitrator.

Keith Harris – Keith is an investment banker and financier who has held senior executive positions at a number of leading institutions. He has acted as a senior corporate finance and takeover advisor in relation to a number of football takeovers including Chelsea, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Fulham and Manchester City. Keith was previously chairman of the Football League, director of Wembley National Stadium Ltd and most recently deputy chairman of Everton F.C.

The forum will begin with registration and refreshments at 4.30pm with the discussion starting promptly at 5.00pm until 6.30pm. We will be inviting attendees to submit questions to the panel prior to the event which will be used to drive an engaging and vibrant debate.

This will be followed by drinks and canapés. The evening will draw to a close at 7.30pm.

This event is designed for senior representatives from football clubs, football agencies, governing bodies, sponsors and others with an interest in the implications of financial fair play.
