I am a Senior Associate in the Employment team based in Belfast. I am dual qualified, practising in both Northern Ireland and England & Wales.

I have experience in advising a diverse range of regional, national, and international clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

I support HR teams, management, and in-house legal departments with a variety of day-to-day employee relations issues. I also advise clients in respect of their obligations under modern slavery legislation.

I have particular experience in representing clients throughout all stages of employment tribunal proceedings, dealing with claims such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing.

My experience also extends to advising on and conducting workplace investigations.

While I advise clients across a wide range of sectors, I have developed particular expertise in the retail, financial services, and manufacturing industries.

Employment

  • Representing clients throughout all stages of employment tribunal proceedings, dealing with claims such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing
  • Providing day-to-day guidance to employers conducting internal disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Managing senior exists, including negotiating financial packages and preparing settlement agreements
  • Supporting clients to navigate long-term sickness and under-performance
  • Conducting reviews of employment contracts and policy documents for legal compliance and best practice.
  • Advising clients undertaking redundancy exercises in their business

Investigations

  • Providing advice and support to clients in respect of internal investigations
  • Undertaking sensitive workplace investigations into complaints raised by employees across a range of sectors, providing evidence based reports to equip clients to respond appropriately to the findings made

Modern Slavery

  • Advising clients on their obligations in respect of the prevention of modern slavery
  • Providing support to clients in respect of their modern slavery statements, reports and due diligence processes.
  • Providing tailored training to clients in this area
