About

I am a Senior Associate in the Employment team in Belfast, advising on the full range of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.

Since qualifying in 2018, I have supported clients with disciplinary and grievance issues, defending employment tribunal claims, senior exits, redundancies, TUPE, and day‑to‑day HR queries.

I also have a strong interest in the overlap between employment law and data protection, regularly advising on subject access requests, data breaches, employee monitoring and matters involving cross‑border workers.

My experience includes in‑house secondments with a global technology company, an international bank and Northern Ireland's leading transport provider. Each of these secondments provided me with valuable insight into the priorities of in‑house legal and HR teams and strengthened my ability to deliver clear and commercially focused advice.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping active, whether that is running, cycling or hiking!

  • Advised on the closure of a large manufacturing business, including redundancy planning, collective consultation requirements and employee-relations issues.
  • Assisted a large professional services company with complex and sensitive whistle-blowing and grievance issues.
  • Advised on complex board-level exits; including negotiation strategy, settlement terms, and risk management from governance and reputational perspectives.
  • Guided public-sector organisations through the TUPE aspects of re-tendering exercises, including: advice on information and consultation requirements and contractual documentation.

Data protection

  • Handled complex subject access requests, coordinating large‑scale data reviews, redactions, exemptions, and advising on strategy in contentious employment contexts.
  • Assisted a global tech company with the defence of class actions brought due to alleged breaches of the GDPR.
  • Advised employers on managing data breaches, including reporting obligations, employee communications and post‑incident risk mitigation.
