I am a Managing Associate in the Employment team based in Manchester.

I am an experienced Employment lawyer, advising employer clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. I pride myself on acting as an extension to clients' in-house HR and legal teams, to become a trusted adviser and meet commercial objectives. I don't just recite the law, but provide a plan of how it can help your business and get you where you need to be. Over recent years, I have been working primarily with clients in the retail, transport, logistics and financial services sectors.

As well as maintaining a healthy Tribunal workstream, I enjoy getting stuck into projects with clients, whether that is a collective redundancy process or a tricky disciplinary/grievance matter. I have substantial experience acting for employers with senior-level disputes and exits. I also regularly offer employment support to corporate transactions.

Experience

Employment litigation

  • Managing substantial volumes of complex and commercially sensitive ET litigation (including Employment Appeal Tribunal), including whistleblowing, discrimination, equal pay and unfair dismissal claims.
  • Advising on multiple-claimant and union backed litigation, including for protective awards and under s.145B of TULRCA.
  • Providing bespoke strategy advice on high-value and high-stakes claims.
  • Developing ways of working to streamline the smooth running of outsourced ET litigation case loads.

Employment

  • Advising on a full spectrum of employment law issues from disciplinary and grievances, to collective processes involving redundancies and TUPE.
  • Advising on reputationally sensitive matters including whistleblowing and director level exits and investigations.
  • Providing employment law support to corporate and property transactions.
