AI Literacy

AI literacy means equipping staff and other relevant individuals with the skills, knowledge, and understanding to use, interact with, and oversee AI systems responsibly and effectively.

Under Article 4 of the EU AI Act, from February 2025, businesses that provide or deploy AI systems must ensure their staff and other persons dealing with AI (including contractors, service providers, and customers) have a sufficient level of AI literacy to make informed decisions and understand the risks and opportunities associated with AI.

The module is designed for all staff and other people who interact with AI systems on behalf of your organisation, including employees, contractors and service providers. It is suitable for both technical and non-technical roles, with content tailored to different levels of experience and the context of AI use.

The module covers foundational AI concepts, what is artificial intelligence, how AI systems work, ethical considerations, critical thinking about AI outputs, practical applications, and best practices for safe and responsible AI use.
