We have advised social creative agency OK COOL on its sale to LA headquartered Residence.

Residence, the global network of creative companies, has acquired strategic and social creative agency OK COOL. The acquisition underlines an increasing focus on social media as brands shift investment towards social-first, audience-centric advertising.

OK COOL focuses on social-native storytelling and creator partnerships, helping brands communicate in ways that reflect contemporary culture. The shop has worked with brands including Spotify, Nike, Lululemon, Disney, Puma, TikTok Shop, Berghaus and Uniqlo. In 2025, it was reappointed as global agency of record for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, and it has a long-term global partnership with Meta Wearables.

Following the Residence model of championing its agencies’ independence, OK COOL will continue to operate under its own brand and leadership team as part of Residence’s global network, led by co-founders Liz Stone, Global Chief Creative Officer, Jolyon Varley, Global Head of Brand, and Ben Gordon, Global Chief Operating Officer.

Our team was led by Corporate Partner, Karish Andrews, with support from Matthew Rowbotham (Partner, Tax), Ayesha Chanda (Senior Associate, Corporate), Gabriella Jack (Associate, Corporate), Leonie Sheridan (Associate, Digital, Commerce & Creative) and Michael Birchall (Associate, Rewards & Incentives).

Commenting on the deal, Corporate Partner, Karish Andrews, said:

“This was such a fantastic deal to work on.  OK Cool is one of the fastest growing and, yes, ‘coolest’ social agencies out there.  It was a genuine pleasure and privilege to act for Jolyon, Liz and Ben. They have built a fantastic business and I’m sure will go from strength to strength as part of Residence.  Huge congratulations to everyone involved.”

Commenting on working with Lewis Silkin on the transaction,

Ben Gordon, Global Chief Operating Officer, said: “Working with Karish and his team at Lewis Silkin was a pleasure from start to finish. The way they navigated us through an incredibly complex process, keeping us calm and informed throughout made us feel in control of the process and in safe hands. At all times, I was glad they were on our side of the table!”

Jolyon Varley, Global Head of Brand, said: “We were recommended Lewis Silkin by three entrepreneur peers who had been through successful exits with their support. That is three more times than any other firm was recommended. That should tell you what you need to know about Karish and the team. The experience of working with them was every bit as impressive as we were led to believe.”

Liz Stone, Global Chief Creative Officer, said: “I’ve genuinely never felt more at ease or in better hands with a legal team. As someone who isn’t naturally bullish or confrontational, the sale process could have felt overwhelming, but from the moment they stepped in, I felt completely protected. Their ability to shield us, advocate for us, and hold firm on our behalf was truly remarkable. I came off every single call feeling calm, reassured, and deeply grateful that they were on our side!”
