The Lewis Silkin team has advised its long term client Sopra Steria (Euronext Paris: SOP), a European leader in digital transformation, on the sale of its UK recruitment subsidiary, Sopra Steria Recruitment Limited to the Resource Solutions Group. The transaction completed in June 2019.

Sopra Steria provides one of the most comprehensive portfolios of offerings on the market, spanning consulting, systems integration, industry-specific solutions, infrastructure management and business process services. It provides end-to-end solutions to address the core business needs of large companies and organisations, helping them remain competitive and grow. With over 44,000 employees in more than 25 countries, Sopra Steria generated revenue of €4.1 billion in 2018.

The Group’s strategic priorities in the United Kingdom are now focused on scaling up its digital and consulting offering, and on strengthening its foothold in the private sector, particularly in financial services.

The cross departmental Lewis Silkin team was led by corporate partner Paul Rajput, with assistance from, amongst others, employment partner Richard Moore, corporate tax partner Matthew Rowbotham and corporate associate Georgina Fraser.

Paul Rajput says: “We have acted on a number of strategically important deals for Sopra Steria, which is a highly valued and longstanding client of Lewis Silkin. We look forward to supporting our client on its projects going forward”.
