Lewis Silkin has advised one of the global leaders in museum planning, design and delivery, Event Communications, on the sale of the Event group to Chargeurs Museum Solutions, part of the Paris listed Chargeurs group.
Lewis Silkin has acted for Event Communications for more than 15 years and during this time, Event Communications has worked with museums in all areas including natural history, sport, science and fine and decorative arts. Recognised internationally for its consistent ingenuity, design, storytelling excellence and exemplary project management, Event Communications produces masterplans for museums, heritage attractions, and cultural quarters as well as brand and corporate experiences.
Remarkably, museums designed by Event have won the European Museum of the Year Award five times.
The Lewis Silkin team was led by Corporate partner, Karish Andrews, with support from Tax partners, Matthew Rowbotham and Sara Cohen, and Corporate associate, Jack Baldwin.
James Alexander, Event Communication’s CEO said on the sale: “Being able to call on the wisdom and insight of Karish and his team at LS over the past months has been vital. The sale process was new to us all at Event and having the experience of the LS team close at hand has been reassuring. Throughout negotiations, particularly during moments of challenge, it was evident that however difficult the potential outcome, the advice we were getting was the right advice rather than simply the easiest to deliver. I am terrifically grateful to have had Karish alongside on our journey.”
Celestine Phelan, Founder and former Chair of Event Communications said: “Event’s acquisition by Chargeurs brings nearly four decades of independent operation to a successful conclusion. For me, the transition has huge significance as it offers a sound platform for future growth. The sale process was supported with real understanding and confidence by the team at Lewis Silkin; I am immensely appreciative of their contribution.”
Commenting on the deal, Lewis Silkin’s Karish Andrews said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with our longstanding client, Event Communications, on its sale to Chargeurs. Event does such fantastic work and it is always incredibly enjoyable to see a company with such wonderful talent and longstanding custodian shareholders achieve such an important landmark. We hope the deal is an enormous success for everyone involved.”
