The next Disputes HQ session will be on AI and Litigants in Person in Litigation and Employment, in which experts in our Dispute Resolution and Employment teams will host a discussion on the fast emerging reality of AI assisted litigants in person in the civil courts and employee use of AI in grievances and submissions.

AI is changing written advocacy and internal submissions at speed. Alongside genuine productivity gains, we are seeing new risks, including fabricated authorities, over complicated content and procedural missteps.

We will explore the issues arising, drawing on scenarios and examples from our experts’ practices and experience.

What we will cover:

  • How AI use by litigants in person is showing up in live disputes.
  • Common AI related pitfalls for litigants in person and how courts are reacting.
  • Applicable rules and emerging policies on litigants in person and AI use in litigation.
  • Responding to incorrect or abusive AI use by opposing litigants: when to engage, when to escalate, and how.
  • Educating business stakeholders on safe AI use in disputes.
  • The challenges for employers of AI-drafted grievances and top tips for responding.

The session is designed for in house disputes and HR teams who are encountering, or expect to encounter, AI generated pleadings, correspondence, and evidence - both in litigation and in the workplace.
