The CIPD's 2022 benchmark of job quality offers insights to improve working lives. It examines the impact of COVID-19 on job quality and reveals work-life balance, health and well-being, job security and the rising cost of living are key issues for workers. It measures a wide range of aspects of job quality, including employment essentials, such as contractual arrangements, the day-to-day realities of work as experienced by workers themselves, and the impacts on people’s health and wellbeing. The report suggests that employers need to develop an effective people across the following areas: (1) values, culture and leadership; (2) workforce planning and organisational development; (3) employment relations; (4) people analytics and reporting.
