This Accenture report finds that while sustainability was once primarily a brand and reputational concern, CEOs now recognise it is critical to integrate sustainability into core strategy and operations for resilience and growth. The research finds that 85% of respondents believe that the business case for sustainability is stronger today than five years ago and 97% remain committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This shift in executive mindset is happening as CEOs face geopolitical shifts, economic and profitability pressures and regulatory and reporting complexities. The report outlines five key actions CEOs can take to drive momentum, build trust and align public and private sectors for systemic impact which reflect a pragmatic approach to embedding sustainability into business strategy and operations.
