Drawing on insights from 8,800 business leaders and employees across four markets, Employment Hero’s latest report finds that AI-focused businesses are hiring more, not less, with 62% of AI-core firms growing their entry-level headcount over the past two years - more than double the rate of non-adaptors.

AI skills are rapidly becoming a “new credential”, ranking ahead of prior work experience and university degrees for many employers. At the same time, the report highlights an upskilling gap, with employees increasingly taking responsibility for developing AI skills themselves. It highlights that the organisations most likely to thrive through this technological and cultural shift are not those adopting AI the fastest, but those that empower their people to see AI as an ally rather than a threat.
