I am an Associate in the Employment, Immigration and Reward division at Lewis Silkin.
Prior to joining Lewis Silkin, I studied History at the University of York and completed my training contract in the London office of a leading US law firm.
I advise both employers and individuals on a wide range of employment law issues, from routine day-to-say advice to providing support in relation to disciplinaries, grievances and terminations. I also have experience of contentious matters both in the Employment Tribunal and High Court. To date I have acted for both employers and employees in relation to claims for whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal.
Investigations and Regulatory
I particularly enjoy investigations and have substantial experience in conducting complex and lengthy investigation processes. This work requires sensitive handling and great focus is given to ensuring that the facts are uncovered and dealt with in a fair and proportionate manner. The work involves scoping the issues, interviewing witnesses, identifying other forms of corroborating evidence and writing a report detailing the body evidence so that an organisation has the ability to respond appropriately to the conclusions reached.
Some recent examples of my work include:
- Investigating allegations of sexual harassment against a law firm partner
- Investigating allegations of significant expenses fraud by an employee
- Acting as secretariat to a public inquiry
- Investigating an employee’s allegations of financial impropriety against their employer
