I am a Managing Associate in Lewis Silkin's corporate team.
I excel in helping borrowers and lenders navigate complex loan documents, security documents such as debentures, share charges, corporate and personal guarantees and priority arrangements such as intercreditor agreements, subordination agreements and deeds of priority. I am a trusted advisor with a client centric, tailored approach to each legal challenge.
Banking and Finance
I am a banking and finance lawyer with over ten years of experience acting both for large corporate and midmarket borrowers and financial institutions such as HSBC, Barclays, Natwest, Virgin Money and Coutts. My diverse experience spans general corporate lending (leverage or investment grade), acquisition finance, and real estate finance (such as care homes or hotels) on both a national and international level. A subject matter expert, I delivered specialist training for the Loan Market Association and undertook a twelve-month secondment to the Large Corporate team at HSBC.
Examples of Recent Work
- Assisting a financial institution lending to a midmarket borrower (backed by private equity) for the purchase of a target company
- Assisting a financial institution lending to a corporate borrower to refinance existing debt secured against real estate retail properties
- Assisting financial institutions with repapering of loan documents to transition to other rates following LIBOR cessation
- Helping non-traditional lenders set up a lending team and create template borrowing documentation
- Supporting lenders and borrowers through amendments to facility agreements, financial covenant breaches or consents to provide for things typically restricted in the facility agreement
Championing Diversity and Inclusion
I am a dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion, actively championing women’s rights in the legal profession and regularly contributing to the legal press. I am a member of Lewis Silkin’s Gender Group and previously sat as Chair of the Law Society’s Women Solicitor Network, leading the Law Society’s response to key issues facing women in the legal profession. My role as Chair involved acting as keynote speaker for some of the profession’s key events, hosting panel events, running the flagship “return to work” course and championing women’s rights across all forums.
