Changes to Chinese visa applications

11 April 2017

Effective immediately, the Chinese consulate in Hong Kong has advised that all females between the ages of 16 to 40 and all males between the ages of 18 to 55 must now provide previous passports in addition to current valid passports for application of all Chinese visas if their current passport was issued after 2015.

It appears that applications submitted without the relevant passports are likely to be rejected or refused by the Chinese Consulate. The details for this requirement have not been formally announced and we are awaiting confirmation on whether this applies to Chinese consulates in other countries. We will release a further E-flash once we receive more information.
