Lewis Silkin advises London Advertising on initiative launched by Prime Minister

04 December 2012

Corporate Partner Paul Rajput is leading the Lewis Silkin team supporting London Advertising, whose competition has attracted interest from over 1,500 people in 60 countries.

Lewis Silkin has advised its client London Advertising, having first advised this fast growing international advertising agency on its start-up in 2008, on a competition the agency created which was launched by David Cameron this year and forms part of the Government’s push to encourage technology start-ups. The competition attracted interest from over 1,500 people in 60 countries involved in new business ventures.

The competition offered £100,000 in funding to secure ideas to create a “next generation advertising agency”. The winning idea has been codenamed “Project W” and details of the idea remain confidential until its launch next spring. The idea, a social media application, has proved so compelling that one of the competition’s judges, David Bailey, former head of Worldwide Retail Programs at Apple who helped to build Apple’s retail operations over the last decade before his departure, has joined the new technology start-up and described the winning concept as a “world-beating digital product”. In addition to the funding, the offer also included the opportunity for the winning team to pitch to 14 leading brands that supported the competition.

Lewis Silkin’s Corporate partner Paul Rajput is leading the team supporting London Advertising. Paul says “Lewis Silkin’s long-established track record of advising the marketing communications sector meant that we were both well placed to support London Advertising during its start-up phase and extremely excited to participate in the launch of Project W given its potential to change the game in the already dynamic social media arena”.

Michael Moszynski, Partner, CEO, London Advertising, says “We are extremely grateful to Lewis Silkin in helping us bring Project W to market. The profile the competition generated for the winners and our agency has been phenomenal and has provided tangible evidence for how ‘Start-Up Britain’ is not just a phrase but is real and happening here now!”
