City law firm Lewis Silkin LLP has today announced the appointment of Christopher Hitchins, who joins as a partner in the firm’s renowned Employment, Reward and Immigration (ERI) team. Chris joins from Morgan Lewis, where he was a partner and group leader of the labour and employment practice in the London office.
Chris has a particular focus on international projects and transactions, with many of his clients operating in multiple jurisdictions across Europe, the US and Asia. In particular, he regularly advises on large-scale and complex international transactions and outsourcing agreements.

Chris has a wealth of experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment law and regularly advises on the full range of UK employment law matters including recruitment, performance management, grievance and disciplinary investigations, redundancies, restrictive covenants, as well as compensation and incentives.
Commenting on the appointment, Michael Burd and James Davies, joint heads of ERI at Lewis Silkin LLP, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Chris to the firm. His appointment reflects our continued appetite to grow the practice both organically and through strategic lateral hires and his arrival particularly expands the capability of the ERI team in the international corporate arena, which will no doubt add significant depth to our already market-leading employment law offering.”
“I very much look forward to being part of Lewis Silkin’s Employment, Reward and Immigration team. The firm’s consistently top ranked employment practice, strength in depth and breadth of expertise allied to an enviable client list were instrumental in my decision to join them. I look forward to contributing to this exciting period of growth for the practice and the firm as a whole.”
