Looking for more information or inspiration on how to introduce an equal parental leave policy?

In 2024 we introduced our new equal parental leave policy, and since then, we’ve been on a mission to encourage more organisations to adopt equal parental leave. It is good for dads, good for mothers, good for children and its good for business. We offer all new parents (regardless of gender) the chance to take 52 weeks’ leave, with 26 weeks at full pay. We also allow the leave and pay to be taken in an unlimited number of discontinuous blocks.

We don’t want this to be something that acts like a competitive advantage for Lewis Silkin in attracting and retaining talent. We’ve already helped a large number of law firms and other organisations to get their equal parental leave policy adopted by sharing what we have done. We treat our policy wording as open source – we don’t care if you cut and paste our policy and adopt it as your own if it helps you get your own equal parental leave policy implemented.
