How we’re using technology to benefit our clients and colleagues

We’ve recently made Harvey, a secure legal generative AI platform, available to all colleagues in the firm, as part of our path to becoming a tech-enabled law firm.

Making this transformation means that we’re embracing legal technology that could benefit our clients or our team - trialling it and then adopting what works.

As the latest addition to the firm's technology suite, Harvey will enable our lawyers and business teams to provide faster and more efficient services to clients.

All AI-assisted work will be reviewed by experienced professionals, who will continue to make key judgement calls and strategic decisions.

Jo Farmer, Joint Managing Partner at Lewis Silkin, said:

“We only add new technologies, skillsets or service lines when we know it will benefit our clients - so we’re tremendously excited about the positives which Harvey will bring for them. Combining the judgement and expertise of our lawyers with the speed and efficiency that GenAI brings is a huge step forward.

“Our colleagues are already embracing this new technology with open arms, and are busy testing and trialling it to explore its full potential. Looking ahead, we’re committed to being fully transparent about how we use AI – and about both the advantages and potential challenges that it brings – and are looking forward to showcasing how it benefits our clients over the coming months.”

Harvey’s Head of EMEA, Jackie Karmel, said:

"From our first contact with Lewis Silkin we could see that this is a firm where people work and think differently. The whole partnership was engaged in the Harvey rollout, and we’ve been impressed by how quickly Harvey is being adopted by users across the business. We are excited to continue working in partnership with Lewis Silkin to realise the full potential of Harvey and the opportunities it brings.”
