This research from McKinsey reveals that with hybrid working here to stay, office attendance has stabilised at 30% below prepandemic norms and explores its substantial ripple effects, as residents who are now untethered to their offices have left urban cores. 

The report underscores the need for cities and buildings to adapt and thrive by taking hybrid approaches themselves, whereby priorities might include developing mixed-use neighbourhoods, constructing more adaptable buildings, and designing multiuse office and retail space.
